Italian Night

“Claudia Oddo introduces herself with self- confident, powerful and impressionable stage presence. In the most important scenes of Verdi’s and Puccin’s operas she impressed with perfect technique. She prepares her fluent singing with beauty and elegance on the one hand and with divine dynamic legato and noble piano- nuances on the other hand.. Her magnificant central voice has the quality to claim effortless in the amplitude of the room. The climax of her mature singing art became distinguishable in Aida’s “As a winner come home”…”

A musical trip from Italy to Russia

“Oddo has been singing convincingly with charming and natural phrasing, with subtle nuance and supple voice”

A high musical operatic relish

The two singers filled the Rostock baroque hall with their warm voices

“Claudia Oddo’s dark soprano shone in such highly dramatic arias as „Ritorna Vincitor“ from Verdi’s Aida, „Vissi d’arte“ from Puccini’s Tosca as well as the Santuzza aria „Voi lo sapete o mamma“ from Mascagni’s „Cavalleria Rusticana“ which she interpreted with exceptionally nuanced colors and classy drama. Both artists showed their best acting skills in the duets. In „Ah, lo vedi… che hai Tu detto“ from Cavalleria Rusticana they defended their Sicilian peasant honor enthusiastically and fervently.”

Italian temperament

Claudia Oddo accentuates her singing with encouraging gestures

“Claudia Oddo’s rich and warm soprano filled the well attended church. The likable singer, who delighted her audience with her radiant smile, received much applause for her performance of Handel’s „Tochter Zion“. The „Ave Maria“ in the version of Charles Counod, „Panis angelicus“ by Cesar Franck and Bach’s choral „Jesus meine Freude“ were intensively touching. Therefore, the audience was rather regretful to see the trio „l’arc on ciel“ leaving after their one hour performance.”

Rapturous applause for Claudia Oddo – Hommage to Callas in the Oetkerhalle

“…with her beautiful timbre and true voice she made Aida’s wish „Ritorna Vincitor“, from Verdi’s opera of the same name, and Santuzza’s lamentation from Mascagnis „Cavalleria rusticana“ come to life.”
